One of the beautiful aspects of Rhododendrons is that varieties are so radically different in size, foliage, color and more. Please recognize the sizes listed below are merely examples of typical varieties.

1-Yr. Sizes
One year plants range greatly depending on the specific variety. We take cuttings every July and after 14 months, (September), these cutting have put on 2 flushes of growth. We consider these "YEARLINGS".

Come Spring, we consider these "Spring Yearlings" or Spring 1-Yr. Sizes. These Spring Yearlings burst into 2-Yr. size plants during the Spring and Summer.

Yearlings are excellent sizes for most gardeners to plant either in an over-wintering bed, containers or directly into their permanent location.

2-Yr. Sizes
Two-Year Size plants are usually grown in 1-gallon size containers. Two-Year plants range greatly in size depending on the specific variety.

These are probably the most ideal size for the average customer because they are large enough to fill a physical space in your landscape, yet small enough to be inexpensive to ship.

3-Yr. Sizes
Three Year Size plants are large enough to occupy a specific space in a landscape yet are still small enough to get a good rate for shipping to the Eastern United States using UPS-3-Day service.

Three-Year plants range greatly in size depending on the specific variety. These are most always budded when they arrive.

4-Yr. Sizes
Four Year Size plants are very large to ship and cost usually 40% of their price in shipping alone. These are also suseptible to be less tolerant to adverse conditions if purchased after April.

The advantages are that these 4-Year sizes will occupy a space in your landscape right out of the box! We suggest any 4 year plants be purchased in the Fall or Early Spring for ideal transplanting.

Again...Four-Year plants range greatly in size depending on the specific variety. These are most always budded when they arrive.
